SOK Kha is a development consultant and researcher based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. As a consultant, he has over 10 years of a solid, successful, and hands-on experience leading and managing a broad range of research and government support projects in Cambodia. He has worked in a range of roles encompassing Regional Cooperation Specialist, Economic/Policy Researcher, Trade Policy and Trade Facilitation Consultant, Business Process Analyst, Capacity Building Specialist, Project Senior Analyst, and Project Manager. He is concurrently a trade facilitation advisor for ASEAN–EU project ARISE Plus (Cambodia), to support the Cambodian government in implementing various trade facilitation measures (i.e., National Single Window, Authorized Economic Operator, Pre-arrival Processing, Risk Management) with a view to better integrate Cambodia into ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and to accelerate the implementation of WTO’s TFA. He also leads the technical components of a trade-related project funded by the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation. As a researcher, SOK Kha serves as a fellow at the Asian Vision Institute (AVI), a research think tank based in Phnom Penh, where he writes research articles for the in-house publications. He also served as a Visiting Fellow at the China Institute of International Studies (Beijing: Oct-Nov, 2019). He has written and published articles and book chapters on SMEs, trade policy and trade facilitation, regional integration, and regional cooperation mechanism in the Mekong Subregion and Southeast Asia with primary focus on China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). SOK Kha has an academic background in economics, having received his Master Degree and Certificate of Completion of Doctoral Program in Economic, from Kyoto University, Japan.
